Passports, borders… they are just a moot point for us.
We offer good reasons and a place for people to meet, plan, do things together and learn about one another. Our aim is to develop an environment where people feel good and experience each other’s similarities and differences, whether they are Finnish, Romanian or from somewhere else in the world.
About us
Established in 2004, the association Tampereen Suomi-Romania yhdistys ry (TSRY) is an independent organization promoting Romanian culture and language in Finland. Our work relies on the enthusiasm of our team of volunteers and in addition to the cultural activities, TSRY also plays an active part in the social life of the Romanian Diaspora in Finland. Our members are mainly Finnish and Romanian, but we welcome people from all backgrounds with an open heart.
We collaborate with the Romanian Embassy in Helsinki, the Romanian Honorary Consulate in Tampere, the Romanian Language and Civilization department at the University of Tampere and also other associations from Finland such as Suomi-Moldova-seura, Suomi-Romania-seura, The Romanian Cultural Association from Helsinki and the association ArtOn from Tampere.

Interested in the Romanian and Finnish cultures and languages? Come along our enthusiastic team and become an official member of our association. You’ll have the opportunity to participate to our events, to support our activities and to have your say in our projects.
The annual membership fee is 20e. We offer a discount of 50% (10 euros) for the members' partners / family members who join the association. After paying to the below account please send an email with your complete name and the place of residence (locality will suffice) to the email address tampereen.suomi.romania@gmail.com. Your email address will be added to our members’ database and you will be kept up to date with our events and activities.
